The Book of Awesome by Neil Pasricha is exactly what the title claims it to be- it is absolutely Awesome. I don’t think a book has ever made me giggle out loud as much as The Book of Awesome. It’s lucky I was reading in the privacy of my own home otherwise I would have attracted some pretty strange looks when I snorted loudly after reading the section on “Locking People Out of the Car and Pretending to Drive Away”. I think we’ve all experienced the simple delight of this experience and it certainly made me happy to relive it.
I think the most brilliant thing about The Book of Awesome is the fact that it makes you recognise all the little things in life that make you happy, that can often get lost or go by unnoticed in the stress of just living. These little, seemingly insignificant events like finding the TV remote down the side of the couch or a long hug when you really need it are the things that make our lives better. This book, apart from being absolutely hilarious, really makes you look at all the things in life that bring a smile to your face and make you happy. In a nutshell, it’s awesome!
